What's in the Box

Your BrushO package contains four items: the brush handle, two brush heads (one for immediate use, one spare), a Qi wireless charging pad with a USB-C cable, and a quick-start card. The brush handle arrives partially charged — typically around 60 to 70 percent — so you can begin setup immediately without waiting for a full charge cycle. If you prefer to top it off, place the handle on the charging pad and connect the pad to any USB-C power source; a full charge from empty takes approximately two to three hours, and the LED on the charging pad will pulse while charging and glow solid when complete.

Step 1: Download the BrushO App

The BrushO app is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Search for "BrushO" — the official app icon features the BrushO logo on a clean white background. Download and install the app, then create an account using your email address or sign-in-with-Apple / sign-in-with-Google for faster setup. The account is what syncs your brushing data across devices and preserves your historical trends if you upgrade your phone, so take the 30 seconds to create one rather than skipping.

Step 2: Attach the Brush Head

Align the brush head with the metal drive shaft on the top of the handle and press firmly until you feel a click. The head should sit flush against the handle body with a small gap — roughly 1 to 2 millimeters — between the base of the head and the handle. This gap is intentional; it allows the brush head to vibrate freely without contacting the handle housing. Do not force the head further down. To remove a brush head for replacement, grip the head firmly and pull straight up while wiggling gently from side to side.

Step 3: Pair via Bluetooth

Open the BrushO app and tap the "Add Device" button on the home screen. The app will prompt you to press and hold the power button on the brush handle for three seconds until the LED ring flashes blue, indicating pairing mode. The brush should appear in the app's device list within a few seconds — tap it to confirm pairing. Once paired, the LED ring will flash green three times, and the app will display a "Connected" status. Bluetooth pairing is a one-time step; the brush will automatically reconnect to your phone whenever both devices are in range and the app is open.

If pairing fails, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, the brush is not already paired to another device (each BrushO handle can be actively paired to only one phone at a time), and the brush has sufficient battery charge. Holding the power button for 10 seconds performs a factory reset if you need to clear a previous pairing.

Step 4: Configure Your Profile

The app will prompt you to set up your brushing profile. Enter your dominant hand (left or right — this affects how the AI interprets motion data), your brushing goals (whitening, gum health, general cleaning, or sensitivity), and optionally your dentist's recommended brushing duration if it differs from the standard two minutes. The dominant hand setting is more important than it may seem: a left-handed brusher generates IMU motion signatures that are mirror images of a right-handed brusher in the same oral zone, and the neural network's classification accuracy improves measurably when trained on handedness-specific data.

Step 5: First Brushing — Calibration Session

Your first brushing session with BrushO serves as a calibration run. The AI uses this session to learn your individual motion patterns — how you hold the brush, how you move between zones, your typical stroke amplitude and frequency. Wet the brush head, apply a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste, and press the power button once to start.

The LED ring provides real-time guidance during the session. White indicates the brush is active and tracking. Green means you are in a new zone that you have not yet adequately covered. A slow pulsing green means you have spent sufficient time in the current zone and should move on. Red means you are pressing too hard — lighten your grip until the ring returns to green or white. The brush runs for two minutes by default, pausing briefly at 30-second intervals to signal quadrant transitions. After two minutes, it automatically stops.

Resist the urge to check your phone during this first session. Let the brush's onboard LED guide you — the app is for post-session review, not real-time distraction.

Step 6: Review Your First Brushing Score

After the brush stops, open the BrushO app. Your first brushing session data will sync automatically (Bluetooth range permitting) and appear on the home screen. You will see your brushing score — a number from 0 to 100 that aggregates coverage, pressure, and duration — along with a colored 16-zone coverage map. Green zones received adequate brushing, yellow zones were under-brushed, and red zones were missed entirely. Expect a lower score on your first session; the AI is still calibrating, and most people discover at least one or two consistent blind spots they never knew they had.

Step 7: Join the Lifetime Brush Head Program

BrushO's lifetime free brush head program is activated through WhatsApp. In the app, navigate to Settings > Brush Head Program, and tap "Join." You will be redirected to WhatsApp, where a brief automated conversation registers your brush's serial number and shipping address. Once confirmed, you will receive replacement brush heads approximately every three months at no cost — indefinitely. There are no hidden fees, no shipping charges, and no expiration. This step is optional but recommended; it is the single largest cost savings of BrushO ownership compared to any other electric toothbrush on the market.

Ongoing: Charge Whenever Convenient

BrushO's 45-day battery life means you do not need a dedicated charging routine. Place the handle on the Qi pad whenever convenient — once every few weeks is typically sufficient. The LED ring will pulse red when the battery drops below 15 percent, and the app displays the exact battery percentage on the home screen. Because the charging pad uses the Qi wireless standard, it is compatible with any Qi charger you may already own for your phone or earbuds. You can leave the handle on the pad between uses without risk of overcharging; the battery management system automatically stops charging when full and resumes trickle charging as needed.
